Nationals leader David Littleproud has put his support behind the Greens’ proposed bill to break up the supermarkets through divestiture powers if they are found to be interfering in the marketplace.
Speaking earlier in Canberra, Littleproud said he was confident the two major supermarket – Coles and Woolworths – had undue power in the market.
“I believe the only time a government should interfere in a marketplace is when there is undue market power and influence, and they are using that,” Littleproud said.
