Twenty Hong Kong couples have each received HK$60,000 (US$7,700) in baby bonuses after having three children within about two years and a half.
The payments were made under a government scheme launched in October 2023, which gives eligible parents a one-off HK$20,000 bonus for each newborn. To qualify, the child must be born in Hong Kong and at least one parent must be a permanent resident when applying.
