Description of the crisis
Heavy rains since April 2024 have caused a series of devastating flash floods across 33 out of 34 provinces in Afghanistan, continuing until mid-May 2024. The floods directly affected more than 280,000 people and put 1 million people at risk across 33 provinces, resulting in at least 300 fatalities.
